Agatha Feetham, Program Director, Gordon Neighbourhood House

"Julia is one of the kindest and most caring people I have ever met. She has a natural gift for working with and helping people"

About

Compassionate to the core, Julia is endlessly curious about what makes us human, with a special love for attachment theory and the art of creating spaces where people feel genuinely welcome, safe, seen, and understood.

In her work, Julia helps clients connect more deeply with themselves, make sense of their emotional worlds, and build lasting self-compassion. Her style is warm, intuitive, and grounded—meeting people exactly where they are, and gently supporting them toward where they want to go.

When she’s not in session, Julia is a devoted mama and finds restoration and inspiration in the mountains and enjoys challenging her body and nervous system through sauna and cold plunge therapy.

Personal Background

Born and raised in Munich Germany, Julia immigrated to Vancouver with her family at the age of five. After years of moving between two cultures and continents, she returned to Germany to attend university in the beautiful city of Freiburg. Eventually, she found her way back to Vancouver and made it her permanent home. Within the past decade, she has settled in North Vancouver, where she feels deeply grateful to be raising her two children amid mountains, forest, and sea.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Julia finds joy and restoration in hiking, mountain biking, and skiing. While physical activity has always been central to her life, the past fifteen years have also brought a deep love and dedication to yoga and mindfulness—practices that now quietly weave their way through her work as a counsellor.

Education

Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Counselling. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (Registration #14841).

While her academic training has provided a strong foundation for her work, Julia believes it is her personal experiences and relationships that have most meaningfully shaped her ability to support others. She brings both professional expertise and lived understanding to her therapeutic practice, offering clients a space that is grounded, compassionate, and deeply human.
